Life can be quite overwhelming!
With two young kids, a household to run, a full-time job, and starting a company, it’s really easy to get lost in the midst of all the to-do’s. I’m sure I am not the only one who is always looking for better ways to get organized. For this reason, I thought it would be a good idea to share with you today how I keep my life organized.
My two secrets ingredients?
How I Use My LifePlanner™ Agenda
I’ve been using this agenda, designed by Erin Condren, for years now. The LifePlanner™ is available in three layout options (horizontal, vertical, and hourly); each includes views for daily, weekly, and monthly planning. It’s beautifully designed, simple to use and contains a mixture of lined pages, designer blank pages, graph pages and motivational quotes to help you maximize your positivity and productivity. Each week features space for a thankful thought, meal and/or exercise planning and a section for notes and/or goals. This agenda makes life planning so much fun!
- Snap-in bookmark
Durable 2 sided pocket folder
- 4x Sticker Sheets (2 blank and 2 with text)
There are tons of great accessories that you can purchase - my favourites are:
- CoilClip™ Connectors - a simple way to save an invitation, special photo or note. Simply peel off the adhesive strip and attach to anything you want to clip in to your LifePlanner™.
- Pen Holder - always have your favourite pen handy with this adhesive pen holder.
- Designer Dots - Colour-code your LifePlanner™ and coordinate the chaos!
Did I mention that you can even customize your covers and that they can be interchanged when you get bored of the one you have! Simply pull the cover off and snap a new one in its place! Genius!
How I Use My To-Do Wall Calendar
I manage the busy schedule for my family which includes my husband and two children - Liam, age 6 and Ella, age 3. Between sports, school activities, work functions, playdates, family gatherings, appointments and exercise classes, our weekly schedule tends to get a little hectic. I have therefore assigned a colour code to each family member in order to easily track all of weekly happenings.
I love this calendar. Not only is it super pretty to look at and keeps my family super organized, but we love how it has a little "Bucket List" to do each month! The designer and owner of Give with Joy, Anet Nina, was inspired by our busy days.
"Our days tend to fill up quickly and we can forget to make time for rest, fun and the people around us."
She has created lists full of experiences, not tasks, for you to enjoy. You'll find a few adventures to take each month or a simple act of kindness you can do for someone else. Go ice skating, have an indoor picnic or donate blankets to a homeless shelter are a few examples. She has also included three extra lines for you to add your own ideas! My kids and I have been checking some of these off the list each month and are having a blast while feeling accomplished!
Google Calendar is also great for the more high-tech Mom’s. But I really feel the need to write things down and take great pleasure in crossing my items off my list! Not quite the same electronically.
The last thing I want to sound like is someone who’ve got it all together. Despite how organized I try to be, there’s always last-minute changes and unpredictable events. That’s just life. Having a life planner agenda and using a wall calendar is fun, but it shouldn’t be taken too seriously. You gotta leave some room for the unexpected especially the one that can create long-lasting memories. :)
